If like me you started worshipping and listening to Christian music (of whatever flavour) in the mid '80s then Graham Kendrick has always been part of your musical landscape. You can't underestimate the contribution the man has made to Church music and this is a welcome little set of 39 songs collected together with a common theme of Easter. As with most music books this one does the job - ring bound (so it stays open on the right page!) with guitar chords, bass and top line as well as lyrics. Those songs which span more than one side are arranged for minimal page-flipping. "Led Like A Lamb", "Meekness And Majesty" and "Amazing Love" are some of the classics culled from Make Way marches and Spring Harvest songbooks. There are also some numbers I'd never seen before - I'm looking forward to sitting down and working out "How Much Do You Think You Are Worth" from 1974! Although the title mentions Easter I think that's a bit tenuous with most of the songs being pretty "season neutral". If you are a worship leader (or merely a three chord bedroom strummer) then this collection will appeal regardless of your tradition and I heartily recommend it.
