Reviewed by George Luke If I was a really horrible cynic, I would start this review by saying that R&B girl trios such as Jade, SWV et al have enjoyed immense mainstream success, and that right on time (ie, three years later) Christians have picked up on the idea. But I won't (even if I just have), because these three ladies are originals and one of them used to be in the Escofferys, years before any of the aforementioned groups became BIG. "Treat U Right", the opening track on the seven-track IP, and released as a single in it's own right, is currently pounding (or whatever the terminology is these days) on club dancefloors and on the R&B/dance stations - legit or otherwise - down in London, and "Celebration Of Life" will no doubt follow suit. My favourite track, having listened to the whole lot several times, is the ballad "Come Go Away", co-written and co-produced by Don-E, which is also the B side of the single (boy, those harmonies!). Great songs, lovely voices and they're very pretty too (look, if Marcia Dixon can call Take 6 handsome and get away with it, I think I'm entitled to be appreciative without being accused of being sexist). Make no mistake, TRUCE will be around for a long time.
