Since the release of 'Hello Hurricane' in November 2009 it has received praise from all corners - and the American alt rockers can indeed be proud of their revolutionary piece of powerful album making. Just put in the CD, fasten your seatbelt and get ready for takeoff! They are now treating their fans to a special edition of 'Hello Hurricane', including the complete music CD and an approximately 60 minute DVD containing behind the scenes footage like the making-of, in-studio performances of six songs (like "Needle And Haystack Life", "The Sound" and others) and a behind the scenes photo shoot, which all allow a closer look into the work of the San Diego-based group. The black and white format of the making-of section is effective and fits perfectly to the intimate footage which plots the cost and personal journeys which went into the making of the album. It's plain to see that Switchfoot have in this process learned to create out of themselves (instead of producing for someone else). Tim Foreman (bass and backing vocals) calls the album "a big dream out of brokenness". This Special Edition sheds considerable light on that assertion.
