In an interveiw with Mel Gibson, he has been quoted as saying the following-
Theres a friend of mine. She's an evangelical pastor. She just said to me, How many screens do you want? And I won't tell you how many but I gave her a number and she said, Okay. And she just went for it. So it will be interesting to see if we hit the mark. We'll know if she gets heard anyway. It's pushing this week to 3,500.
For years, my best friends were actually evangelicals, many in the business and many in professional ways. I love them. I think they really know the book.
The Scriptures are the Scriptures - I mean they're unchangeable, although many people try to change them. And I think that my first duty is to be as faithful as possible in telling the story so that it doesn't contradict the Scriptures.
Now so long as the film didn't do that, I felt that I had a pretty wide berth for artistic interpretation, and to fill in some of the spaces with logic, with imagination, with various other readings.

Well-known singer and actor Pat Boone has been quoted as saying-
We went to Sunday morning service, Sunday night and Wednesday night. Plus we had Bible reading and prayer and devotionals at home. Even though it got tiring at times, we realised that church was as important to our parents as eating, sleeping or anything else. When I was 13, I confessed Jesus Christ as my Saviour and was baptised in water.
I remember many, many times on my knees, looking out of the window of that attic into the side yard and up the street and asking the Lord to use my life, to use me.
I needed to invite the Lord to fill me and inhabit me, and to give me the power, not only to do his will, but to want to do it.
When my wife, Shirley, and I were both in our mid-30's we received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. It changed our lives, even though it cost us continued fellowship with the church I had been raised in. Once I had been filled with the Spirit, I discovered I don't have to be one person when I'm with showbiz people, somebody else at church, somebody else in the business world and so on. I can be the same person all the time. And I am not going to be ashamed of the Gospel.
I want to be like Jesus, who is willing to seek out people and take time with them, while never losing sight of who he is. He was never embarrassed about associating with them because he came to save them. We think we're so pure, like the Pharisees, and don't want to have anything to do with the publican and the sinner. Yet Jesus would go right into their homes and sit down and say, Whats for dinner.

One in six (16 per cent) also believe that local taxes ought to contribute to the Church's costs, meaning that over half believe that taxation of some kind ought to bear some of the Church's costs. Young adults as well as older ones, Christians, those of other faiths and no faith all feel similarly.
The survey of 1,004 adults also showed that nine out of ten people had been into a church or place of worship in the last year. It was carried out for the Church of England, but was about the use of churches across all denominations.
