After 3 decades i still thoroughly enjoy your music and am still hunting down your songs. The lyrics made a huge impact in my life. Keep your head up high Sandy and hold on to Jesus who loves us unconditionally. Stay strong and stay blessed 😙

Sadly she later admitted to an affair with current husband Don Peslis while on the Make His Praise Glorious Tour, which i always found kind of odd. He seemed rather effeminate and she just wasn't the type of woman to cheat on your wife with. It was kind of like "girl, did you just wanna be married to Sandi Patty??" Anyway, the irony really is that her most profound influence and most powerful songs, with the last being O Holy Night in 1995 were all pre-divorce. Not sure why, but to me that's how it panned out. When i am listening to her it is ALWAYS to a pre-1995 recording. The "it factor" was just not there after that.. And it's probably because she lost a lot of her people. I'm sure she found out about true loyalty by going through a divorce. For example, David Clydesdale never worked with her again and I think he was instrumental in writing and arranging some of her best songs. There was a perfect mix of talents there that ended with "O Holy Night" in 1995 which he so perfectly arranged for her.

So why did a watch a concert with Sandi Patty and Dave Clydesdale at Carnegie Hall in 2013? Before you bake things up, please check your facts.

When I was a little girl in Florida I use to sing in church to her songs. I was a foster kid and I can't describe it completely.. but she was family to me. I had wonderful foster parents ( I had a few ) and when ever I had depression or reflection, you name it, I would sing her songs. I would play the be tape and Jack the tv up. I would sing very loud to the cars that went by. I think for someone my age I could have been her voice over. Years later, this year to be exact, I went to my first concert. I took my kids and was late for a meet and greet. Luckily I was able during half time and my kids ( who heard me speak of nothing but her for a few weeks) watched in awe as I met my hero. I could only get when I met her. I was still hormonal from having my baby but I was in awe. That is the only time in my life I felt like a child coming home. I am grateful for her no matter her trials or failings. I know not one person who hasn't done something one would deem unforgivable. My dream would be to sing eith her one day. Her voice coupled with her heart is what makes her so loved and admired. I don't idolize her but find her a treasure from God who has after all some humanity that can be relatable.

I have loved Sandy Patti's music since I first heard her when she first got started in the Christian music field. She has a God-given talent and a beautiful voice. Do not let her personal life interfere with that. They are not the same. Her voice will still be beautiful and God-given and only HE can take that away from her. None of us, not even the writer of this article, are perfect and will not be til we reach Heaven. He mentioned Amy Grant. Well, yes, she divorced her husband and married Vince Gill, who also divorced his wife. They are both still going strong in their own right. And none of us ever knows what goes on behind closed doors. I never got married only to get divorced, but after 4 children and 12 years of marriage, something devistating happened in our lives and it just "could not be fixed" hence, a divorce took place. None of us have a right to judge anyone because "by the Grace of God, there go you". This wonderful, talented lady has been married to her present husband for 22 years. Give it a break people and if you still love her and her singing, support her -- and that includes the Christian music stations out there. Support her!!

Yes unfortunately, people do get divorces. But that being said, you don't just brush it under the rug and say move on. One must repent and put away their sin. the Bible says that adulterers will not enter into the Kingdom of God, now that's something to be concerned about (1 Corinthians 6:9). So Sandi Patty's marriage to Don Peslis does not dissolve her first marriage, she, as well as Don are living in adultery as long as they are together. "So He said to them, "Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery against her. "And if a woman divorces her husband and marries another, she commits adultery." (Mark 10:11-12) This passage should be very clear. Let's not play down this truth, for ones salvation could be at stake. Oh, and just to let you know, I divorced my wife in 2007 and we both did marry anyone else. Then around 2009, we both got remarried to each other again and are still together to this day, praise God.

You go girl. I agree with everything you said, now. I was upset with both Sandi and Amy when their divorces were publicised. But after I grew a little more in God, I was ashamed of myself. I love both of them.and would love to see them again. Concert or conference.

It has been 20 years this year that I left a very abusive Church .
If it was not for Sandi Patti' music , I would have still been in a deep and most distructive depression . If it was not for the message of Jesus which I had studied for years as a child ,teenager, young adult ,I Would not have remembered Grace through Christ.
Her music ,for I listened to it everyday for one year with tears of anguish.Sandi was sent by Christ to comfort me through her songs which I had remembered as I a child .Thank you for helping see hope through Christ once more . Not the ministry but Christ , I have not entered a church since then. Yet I am free.

what can you say. we are born into a world of sin! we make bad mistakes? we do all kinds of bad things. that why we need to pray and ask forgiveness. we have grace which is christ who died on the cross to cover all are sins which is liberty but we arenot to use liberty as an a escuse to sin. we are to live as christ if we don't pray read the bible and put one armor of god. and some of your sins you will pay for them. but sandi pay for them because shes in the christian public eye and she suppose to mature and perfect
