What a powerful testimony. I have been very inspired. Needed this reality check.

It's great to see that John is doing well and that he realises that God is always faithful. He is so correct too regarding mask wearing. That's mostly what 'church' is about, people pretending.
There seldom is any real honesty of who we are. I'm glad that he could share who he really was and is now.

This article reaffirms what I know from experience - that even Christians are vulnerable to the lures of alcohol, drug addiction, and depression. I grew up in a Christian home, saved as a teenager, yet spent a great portion of my adulthood as an active alcoholic. Satan knows our weaknesses and that's where he attacks. He's powerful. I went through eight years of AA (in and out) yet never really got sober until I re-dedicated and surrendered COMPLETELY to our Lord. Only He truly loves and heals.
Thank you for this article.

My twenty two year old son has always loved the Newsboys. Right now his life is really messed up with alcohol and drugs and he hates himself for it. He has the opportunity to hear John James speak and i am praying that he will attend. This article has moved me to tears and encouraged me to keep on praying for a miracle in his life. John's honesty offers so much hope to those who have fallen. How great is our God!

I'm just re-reading this.
Wow. Just wow. His testimony is amazing.
I never knew this about John, and I was crying before I was done reading it. Amazing how God can change a life around huh?

Mike, that was a great article. I have been a Newsboys fan for a long time. I have seen several shows before and after John James left. I wondered what had happened. I am proud of John for his testimony. He is an inspiration. I wish him and his family the best that God has for them.

As a Christian. Over the year I've come to realize where sin abounds GRACE abounds GREATER and God works powerfully with imperfect people. It is indeed HIS grace which sustains us. We are only our strongest when we remain BROKEN in Him. Life would completely overwhelm us outside of the grace and mercy of His unconditional and relentless LOVE! Often we veiw those in the public eye {entertainment industry} as being invincible ,indestructable, almost Super human. However in truth they are just HUMAN and just as prone to failure and struggle as any one of us . You or me. It is refreshing that after all is said and done Mr. John James can come out and share the details of such a PAINFUL fall from grace. But Never so far the grace of God couldn't rescue him. PRAISE GOD ! I have only the utmost respect for Mr. James. Having the opportunity to share what clearly are VERY personal and private matters to set the record straight. It shows true character and a willingness to completely trust God for the healing process. I feel after reading the interview the honesty and brokeness of his heart is completely aparent. Good for him. God Bless him for being so VERY tranparent. I'm certain this won't just be a personal part of the healing process for Mr. James but for many who having gone through similar down falls. Find the arms of a loving God just waiting to catch them.To fully and faithfully rescue them from the fall. May Gods Grace and mercy and the certainty of his loving infinite compassion be with you all.
