A rousing selection of 20 evergreen hymns ably and atmospherically performed by the Scottish Festival Singers in a recording produced by the equally able and atmospheric Christopher Norton. Whether your background is Gospel Hall or Anglican cathedral, you will find something to your taste here. From "The Old Rugged Cross" and "He Lives" (thankfully this time without the tambourine accompaniment) to "Immortal Invisible" and "Dear Lord And Father" they are all here - well 20 of them are. Another 60 can be found on volumes one to three of this series. Well worth buying if hymns are your thing. My only quibble is with the annoying typos in the sleevenotes.
