Wigan-based singer Seiyefa's latest release is a collection of six songs with a laid back contemporary jazz feel that point towards God and showcase her substantial vocal skills. Containing something of the timbre and intrigue of Nina Simone, Seiyefa's main asset is undoubtedly her voice and it is best used in the opener "Just To Know You" which, together with a tight band performance and an incredible sax solo to boot, is by far the strongest song of the set. Elsewhere, the less imaginative "Hear The Sound" and the recent single "Our God Is Here" fail to match the calibre of the opening track and are saved from being run of the mill by reliably strong vocal performances by Seiyefa. Proceedings pick up again at the end with the stirring and faith-promoting "Believing" but more consistently striking material is needed maintain the listener's interest and to utilise Seiyefa's obvious talents.
