If you originate from across the pond I apologise unreservedly. This CD is ultra American. As well as relating to the service of public servants, the project gained its inspiration from an American Vietnam war hero. Unfortunately, patriotism of the Uncle Sam hand-clasped-on-heart kind doesn’t tantalise British eardrums. I imagine some of us may wish to clasp our hands over our eerily British analogies such as Walt Disney’s or Kevin Kostner’s rendition of Robin Hood (both were excellent but neither accurately portrayed reality). Fortunately, however, our common Christian love for God shines through. Sonically Ray is sound as a pound and inoffensive enough to play for your grandmother. As lead singer, co-writer and co-executive producer it’s typical top notch American MOR. Best track is the cookie “Jesus Real Loud”. Ray imagines shouting out the mane of Jesus in a conservative quiet public place and not being embarrassed. Better him than me! Did I mention that this CD has Ronald Reagan talking over an instrumental and that it is exceedingly American?
