This is the debut LP from a Finnish underground dance producer, originally released in 2001. There is very little in the sleevenotes except for a brief biography which lets us know that his music is heavily influenced by old-school minimal house though this is very much an instrumental techno album which relies heavily on strange noises, abstract sounds and four to the floor beats. Each of the eight tracks here clocks in at over five minutes but aside from the funky swirling monster of "Roodengotta" and the pounding synth stabs that are all over the delicious "Calibrate", there is too much repetition and not enough killer tunes which will stick in your mind like a Blu-Tack invasion. The worst offender has to be the pedestrian "Fein" which would have the likes of Underworld and Claude Van Stroke turning in their musical beds. There also appears to be very little discernable spiritual content here though, something which is made harder to ascertain by the lack of information contained within. It's always difficult making a coherent album working within such a genre and though there are the moments of occasional brilliance, this album works best as a pick and mix than a full blown three-course meal.
