For nearly two decades, Jason Gray has been making music and is now well established as a critically acclaimed singer/songwriter. On this latest release, he has teamed up with his son Kipper to produce 'The Kipper Gray Sessions.' Recorded in Kipper's college house bedroom, with his closet being used as a vocal booth, has given the project a very organic and charming feel. "Love Life" is the perfect song to have blasting through open windows on a hot summer's day and has a similar vibe to a lot of Jason Mraz's songs. "Becoming" closes out the five-track EP with a beautiful Coldplay-esque song about how Christ is continually making us like him, complete with a bridge that you'll be chanting along to in no time. The use of progressive synth rhythms, some amazingly catchy hooks, and multi-layered vocal effects give Gray's latest recording a wonderfully fresh coat of paint from what we have previously become accustomed to hearing from him. The perfect soundtrack for a long road trip, I hope this isn't the last collaboration we see from this father and son duo.
