After a soulful gospel hymn release the year prior, by mid
April 1990 Glen delivers this collection of songs aired
with his roots of country flavor. Evidence is in starter
song "She's Gone,Gone, Gone". Not to mention the numerous
list of country star bgvs of Paul Overstreet, Kathy Mattea,
Ricky Skaggs & his wife Sharon White, Alan Jackson, and I
cannot leave out the top trio Gatlin Brothers (just to name
some). BTW Glen does a great cover of Larry Gatlin's "If
I Could Only Get My Hands On You Now". Once again Glen
delivers another rendition of "William Tell Overture": I
have a concert clip of him jamming this old tv tune. I just
love title song,
"Walkin' in the Sun", what a line "even a blind can tell
when he's walkin' in the sun.": this would've made a great
cd starter song. Country female vocalist Lacy J. Dalton
duets on "Woodcarver"; I really like this one:
this song takes me way back to the late great
Hank Williams' wooden indian "Kaw-Liga" 1952 hit.
Country star Steve Wariner duets on "You Will Not Lose" and
it has hit written on it. The last song on cd definitely
puts everything into its right perspective.
"JESUS On Your Mind" a reminder of Matthew 7:7,8. It also
takes me back to a B.J. Thomas 1979 song , "JESUS on my
Mind". I would have liked to hear more gospel flavored
songs on this cd.
