When I first opened the review package and found this CD I thought, "Oh no." Having now played it a few times, my response has converted to an, "Oh yes." For someone whose normal listening verges between Ultrabeat and thebandwithnoname (with a bit of Mozart thrown in for fun), country-tinged gospel is not my first choice. However, this reissued CD from the Rhinestone Cowboy caught me unawares and a few tracks in I was tapping my feet and humming along to some classic melodies like "A Few Good Men" and "The Greatest Gift Of All". Far from the modern melee of "I really, really, really love Jesus - honest!" songs, the lyrics on this album are profound and inspirational. Instead of retreating in horror, I found this CD uplifting and a real aid to my devotional times. If you ignore the initial culture shock, you discover that this is not cheese, but rather a spectacularly tasteful feast of meaningful offerings of praise to the work of Jesus in our lives.
