The Pennsylvania-based singer/songwriter has a reputation for writing solid songs that are well arranged and produced and 'The Consequence' will do nothing to tarnish this. The opening "All I Need Is You" sets the scene nicely, driven along by the acoustic guitar with nice electric lead lines interspersed exactly where they should be to highlight lyrics and all underpinned by a solid rhythm section and growling Hammond organ - think Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. The lyrics engage instantly and get the point over well without being overbearing - a testimony to both Eddy's vocal delivery and the production. While the pace never gets frenetic, there is plenty of variation from slow ballads - "Eleven In A Boat" - to more up tempo numbers - "There's Water In The Well" - and the wonderful title track. All in all a good listen with the album managing to hold the attention well.
