LA producer Dr Onionskin pumps out a variety of beats though in truth the hardcore electronic dance and underground trance sounds pretty dated. Some tracks offer past reminders such as "Turn The Beat", which could easily be mixed with the classic Run DMC's "It's Like That" or "All The Others" which has a sparse comparison to Paul Hardcastle's "Nineteen". Repetitive heavy bass and drum rhythms are broken up with electronic tweaks and quirky sounds but this is dance music for a defined market. The album is split between the first seven tracks being "mixed" and the latter seven tracks being "individual" which is of no interest unless you are a hardcore fan of the good doctor. And I don't suppose there are too many of those.
