It showed a dramatic fall in support for the controversial three parent procedures since the previous poll in February. Support dropped from 35% in favour with 34% against in February to just 18% in favour and 46% against (which rose to 55% against in certain situations) in late August.

In August, Khartoum Central Church, where 550 Christians had been meeting each week, was closed by government agents. They said the reason for the decision was that the building was registered as an office but was being used as a place of worship. When some of the church's leaders went to the security office to try to stop the church from being closed, they were surprised to be shown a document signed by a senior church board member declaring that the property was only to be used as an office and not as a church. It is suspected that the board member signed the document under pressure and was told not to tell anyone.

David Cameron has announced that online music videos will be given age ratings in order to protect children.

He unveiled a pilot scheme with the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) and YouTube which will rate videos if they are deemed to have inappropriate content.

Children are being affected by graphic content in video games, including violence and prostitution, a YouGov survey has found.

One in four parents said that they notice a negative change in behaviour when their children play certain video games.

A third of parents interviewed felt that gaming was occupying so much of their children’s time that it was hampering their physical activity.

The decision by the U.S. Navy, to remove Bibles from its Navy rooms, has been reversed. Navy Exchange Service Command officials had previously said they would be removing all religious literature, following complaints from an atheist group.

Travelodge to remove Bibles from its rooms. The 500-strong hotel chain has decided to remove all of the Bibles from its hotel rooms because, they say, having a Christian book does not reflect Britain's ‘multicultural society’. Some Bibles will now be held behind reception desks for customers wishing to read it.
