A very striking opening to this album, which unfortunately does not quite deliver on the promise shown by its title track. These guys have talent and their style is, as they hope, "both enjoyable and different" - best described perhaps as alternative easy listening (MOR meets ambient meets world music meets Philip Glass): they have a fine way of throwing the occasional musical spanner into the stream of light music to bring the listener up with a shock. All the material is home grown: written, arranged and studio produced by lead performers Ian and Jenny Whyte. They need to work on enunciation (if you have a message, it is worth hearing, guys), tighten up rhythmically in places, introduce a bit more variation in the harmonic language and believe as much in themselves as they obviously do in the Lord of whom they sing. In the meantime this disc is worth checking out.
