Interesting fact number one: Caspar McCloud, front man of Three, was born in the USA but raised in England. Interesting fact number two: he was signed to Atlantic records in the '80s. And interesting fact number three: it was also in the 1980s that Phil Keaggy was instrumental in Caspar's conversion to Christianity. In fact since Caspar starting dedicating his music and ministry to God in 1990, and Keaggy has consistently made guest appearances on Three's recordings. Musically their style is rock and roll, taking heavy influence from the '70s brand of rock but with elements of blues, hair metal and even folk at times. Often the music itself lacks the punch you'd like it to have, but more often the words behind it is what provides the biggest power. This is a very worshipful band who provide more of a ministry than a form of entertainment. This is no doubt influenced by a near-death experience that Caspar suffered a few years back. He was at a worship service at his local church when he dropped to the floor, his heart had stopped and there was no pulse. The people around him prayed and Caspar was revived. This testimony was medically documented as a miracle. It is therefore no surprise that this band's form of music is first and foremost a way of letting people know how powerful, wonderful and awesome the Lord is. But that doesn't escape the fact that there are some top quality songs on here.
