The Blessed Man is a UK-based rapper who hits home with a clubby sound mixing rap with a sprinkling of R&B to full effect. The uncompromising message stands out on the title cut and the single gives you three mixes. You get a straightforward club mix with vocal support from Marcia Phinn which gives way to the underground mix which has The Blessed Man doing his stuff over a stripped down drum loop and minimal support - but the message stays in your face! Getting the Church out off the pews and onto the streets to bless the nation is the motivation here so that were impacting the culture. It's a good sentiment which is well executed on the three mixes. The final cut "Microphone Ministry" is free flow ministry again over a stripped down groove and The Blessed Man has got the chops to make this work. The last couple of years has seen a number of British gospel rap acts emerging to challenge the Americans at their own game. 'Bless The Nation' sees The Blessed Man join the party.
