Readers with long memories will remember we once wrote about an excellent American rock outfit called Big Methuselah and recounted the story of how their leader Ted Pierce couldn’t secure a deal with a Nashville company because he was too ugly! But now Mr Pierce returns with another string to his creative bow and as a purveyor of Messianic praise turns in one of the freshest and most heart warming albums the genre has seen since the golden age of Lamb. Wistfully haunting Jewish folk praise music but with plenty of contemporary bite in the production and none of the melodramatic mush which has emaciated Integrity Music’s stabs at Messianic music. What is amazing is that Ted is a Gentile believer but he brings an authentic sounding touch to the genre. Thoroughly recommended.
