The British Christian scene seems to be developing a pile of gifted guitar bands. Let's see: there's the likes of Fono, Fabulous, Bleach, Dust and Superhero who have all caught my attention in the last couple of years. And now you can add to that list, Liverpool's Supervision. A four piece who marry melody and a strident sound, this four-track EP is an ideal introduction. From the unashamed declaration of the sing-along "King of the universe" chorus in "Son Of A King" it's clear that Supervision want to nail their colours to the mast. The EP's closer is the mellowest the band get and still there's plenty of guitar, albeit at a lower volume but still packed with plenty of feeling. However, it's the opening cuts that hit me between the eyes right from the Jimi wah wah guitar opening of "Number 10" and the distorted riff and more wah on "All The Words". Noisy, passionate and going places! That's Supervision!
