If you're a long time follower of CCM you'll know that Steve used to be the lead singer for Memphis band Big Tent Revival who were a pretty big act on the US scene before announcing a "sabbatical" which presumably subsequently has now become permanent. Steve had originally started off as a solo (his "Eigtheen Inch Journey" was a killer song from way back) and knows his way round a catchy couplet and a memorable radio friendly hook. The themes here are strong and biblical, the gift of faith ("Faith That Is Real"), the Lord's holiness ("You Alone Are Holy") and Christian lifestyle ("Living For The Lord") with many featuring acoustic guitar rhythms, warbling Hammond and punchy drums. But there is nothing here to wrench it out of the merely competent. So unless you're a huge BTR fan you'd better look elsewhere for your CD purchase.
