Having just returned from Spring Harvest myself and been hugely blessed by the power of the worship I experienced, I couldn't resist grabbing this new release for review. I have to say at the outset that the title is somewhat misleading in that you would expect the album to contain at least a smattering of recordings from the early years of Spring Harvest. But in fact, there are no recordings here earlier than 1981 (but then maybe no recordings exist of the 1979 worship). There are only two recordings from the '80s and two from the '90s, and the majority of the tracks here, such as "Lion And The Lamb" (with worship leader Ben Cantelon), "The Cross Stands" (with Tim Hughes) and "Good Good Father" (led by Chris McClarney), carry such an impact that any criticisms about this being an incomplete history can be put on one side. The three CDs here have so many classic songs that this is a clear demonstration to anyone that hasn't yet grasped the fact that Spring Harvest events are the most significant events in the history of the modern worship movement and there is music captured here which is potentially life-changing.
