Around April last year Pamplin Records released this album in the States by a new pop rock duo (Jason McKinney and Alan Moore) called Spinaround. Around June last year Authentic Media (or Word Entertainment as they were then) released it in the UK. In November Pamplin Records announced they were closing up shop because of a "lack of profitability and a lack of projected profitability." A careful listen to albums like this one clearly indicates the root of the problem. For despite a slick, tight production from Jim Cooper, with plenty of those clever audio effects and layered sound that only come from plenty of studio time; despite lyrics which tackle such important lyrical themes as our unworthiness before God's holiness ("Undeserving"), coping with unrequited romantic love ("Boy Meets Girl") and the mysterious dynamic of God's relentless love ("Gravity And Grace"); and despite both Jason and Alan having gutsily expressive voices able to handle socking rock tunes, power ballads and even a couple of spurts of rap, there simpily aren't any really memorable tracks to make the reviewer reach for the repeat button or the radio programme controller shout 'A' list! In such a crowded field as American pop rock gospel, mere professionalism isn't good enough.
