A bit in the "intelligent pop" field of The Verve, Suede, Radiohead, et al, this London team, formed in 1993, have played gigs like the Garage, Mean Fiddler and Hope & Anchor as well as occasional sorties further afield. The first three cuts here are studio recordings, the second three live cuts and all show a band brimming over with creative ideas and a nice line in jangling guitars and vocal hooks that stay in the mind. One of the best new indie releases I've heard for a while.
