Shanti (meaning 'peace') are four fine men from rockin' Reading who've been around a couple of years and have recently done a couple of support slots for Eden Burning (hasn't everyone now?). This home produced tape features three songs including the curiously titled "My Second Rate Chum". The sound quality is good enough to allow discovery of a promising outfit. The songs are structured around some strong acoustic guitar work, while the rhythm section manages to kick in enough energy to recall Brussel in their saner moments. They need to work hard on their vocals, but there's plenty here to enjoy. Watch out Reading.
