In February 2011, London based Segun released his debut single "You Are God", and gained airplay throughout Europe, USA and Africa. Just over a year later, the debut album is released but does the momentum continue? After the "Intro" and the single, we are greeted with the more up-tempo, dance-influenced "Faithful God" with the same Israel Houghton style silky vocals, great vocal support from Bethel Eskender and a tight set of musicians that would put some albums to shame. The gentler "I Need You" uses the same strengths and confirms the quality of songwriting that was present on the single. The only track not written by Segun, and ironically the weakest, is the traditional "I Need Thee Every Hour" where the backing vocalists take the lead. My favourite track is the jazz fuelled praise "You Deserve It All", which suits Segun's vocals beautifully and demonstrates how versatile this man is.
