At last the album that should have been released by now is finally available from Plankton, like the rest of the Saviour Machine catalogue. This second part of the trilogy sees SM further exploring the Revelation prophecies and is therefore packed full of the kind of language and imagery that you would expect from a work of this nature. It also sees the band moving further away from their goth/prog rock roots and taking in more operatic and classical influences. All of this put together makes the album a heavy listen. It’s not fun and it’s not rock’n’roll but then I don’t think it’s meant to be. I’ll say the same thing about this as ‘Legend Part I’ – don’t make this your first SM album. Fans of the band will love it and will understand where they are coming from but new listeners would do well to pick up some earlier works first.
