This 14 track album from the Aberystwyth singer/songwriter, who has previously released six albums starting in 2006, now turns his attention to the Psalms. With a gentle voice and a largely generic musical approach, "Shout" (Psalm 33) with its more than casual nod to rock stands out, "Call" (Psalm 120) is largely a choral piece and "Wait" (Psalm 27) features a soft jazz backing, while elsewhere his stylings relate to pop rock. Richard states they show a wide range of ways to respond to God and our circumstances, "Though as nearly always happens with songwriters putting their music to the Psalms, there are none of the 'difficult' verses selected like God dashing his enemies to pieces or some such. This album is really a little snapshot of some of these to encourage you in whatever is happening in your life right now." Unfortunately, musically, this is not too inspiring.
