Rich and Lydia are a married couple who are worship leaders at Kings Cross Church in London. Rich has released a solo album in the past but 'Make Us One' is their first recording together. Here we have seven songs extolling Jesus, praising him for his love, compassion and saving grace with Rich being the main singer and songwriter. He has a pleasing timbre to his voice and carries each song well while Lydia's bvs add texture. "Kingdom Come (Lift Up Your Heads)", now a couple of years old, is given a makeover - slower, gentler and more restrained and it benefits from this reworking. "With Me" is an updated Psalm, a calm start with Lydia's voice more in evidence while "The Glory In The Grief" has some delicate harmonies over just a strummed acoustic guitar. No one would claim that this mini-album is particularly different to other acoustic pop projects but there is still considerable skill and craft shown in this release.
