Apparently all genuine brothers Babb. Yes, of course there are five of them, don't ask silly questions while I'm trying to be creative. Another dip by Ace into Nashboro Records classic mid-50s gospel vaults, the older tracks feature original lead singer Morgan Babb. Like many of his ilk he went on to solo fame, though never to the heights of such as Sam Cooke. Much of the programme here contains upbeat material, somewhat resembling the more aggressive side of the Soul Stirrers. The accompaniment bops merrily along and the overall impression is of a good dollop of the raw energy associated with this particular genre. One plus mark is the absence of the standard songs that crop up regularly on these traditional sets. The Radio Four seemed to concentrate on older, obscure songs and though, like the songs, very little is known of the group, the standard of performance makes this a welcome arrival.
