There's a lot of Canadian Christian music. From snappy pop R&B like Avante, country like Kelita, to brilliant acoustic singer/songwriters like Steve Bell, Canadian music is clearly flourishing. So news that this band have "an increasing cult following in Toronto" primed me for something pretty hip. I was sorely disappointed. Maybe if I'd never heard the Ramones and all those hundreds of post-punk bands into stage diving energy and two chord, two
minute songs, I'd go for this. Or maybe I need to see them live, though I suspect even that wouldn't cut much ice. Up front lyrics about God simply don't compensate for a style totally devoid of originality.

Jared totally hit a home run on this one! Wow whoever wrote this review, clearly shouldn't be writing reviews. Yes, this cd was a little rough around the edges for quality, but it still delivered. However the songs were well structured, wholesome, and extremely catchy. Maybe you should of went to see them live cause to this day I haven't been to local shows that matched up to the fire and intensity you would experience at a Phlipper show. They were absolutely amazing live and they had a sold out show of die hard fans every single night they played. It broke many hearts when they broke up, and if they never did, they would of went sooo far. So any other Phlipper fans that read this over 12 years later, please add me to facebook and we will be friends! This band made me who I am today and I am so thankful to have experienced almost every show they played!

This is a terrible review. You are just dumping Phlipper with stupid preconceptions and stereotypes of punk music. eg. Two Chord songs, two minute songs. Right there you have just shot down your credibility. And you also said that Steve Bell is a brilliant song writer, right there makes any negative comment you make an automatic positive comment for the rest of the world. Maybe you should work on your reviews, I don't know do some research. I give your review a one out of a possible ten.
