Having already reviewed 'Human' I must say that 'Progressive Revelation', the band's debut album, is no less important artistically. Obscure arrangements, coupled with dynamic compositions, form a subtle platform upon which the band build rich sonic landscapes of suitable depth that once again challenge well established and comfortable boundaries; both 'Noonday Prayer' and 'Reason' stand as fine examples of the pioneering work of artful noise. Despite the experimental edge to 'Progressive Revelation', it must be stated that the production is not as good as it could have been, where the mix in places is sadly uneven; the bluesy "Wild Blue Yonder" is a prime example of a composition that suffers as a result. Having said that however, it is important to bear in mind the fact that this project has been self-produced and financed and when considered in this light, stands up fairly well. Though not for everyone, 'Progressive Revelation' is a fine example of one of Christendom's leading independent underground bands, worthy of exploration.
