Brain child of Shane Matsumoto, Paradigm Lost are a band who think nothing of exposing and expressing their doubts, fears and faith through their unique brand of music. 'Human' is a compelling collection of intriguing compositions that are by no means easy to listen to, and yet have the ability to demand and maintain the listener's attention both sonically and lyrically. A fine example of this can be heard on "Reason"; where industrial grooves and experimental noise are interspersed with passages of ambient textures, set to a powerful bed of rhythm and bass guitars that are periodically punctuated by captivating lead work. Paradigm Lost evidently aspire to create groundbreaking art that is both experimental in nature and eloquent in its delivery. Though the mix is a little uneven in places, this, the band's second album, stands as an inspiring example within the genre.
