Long-time Cross Rhythms readers and listeners to our radio stations will know Nicki as an excellent singer/songwriter who after her time with teen pop group Blush made an unexpected and successful entrance into acoustic pop music playing churches and festivals around Britain. She's been rather quiet of late so this 2017 compilation is most welcome, particularly as it offers a brand new track, the excellent single "Kissed By Mercy", a song she wrote and recorded after travelling to Benin at the start of 2017 to visit the ministry of Mercy Ships. Other quality tracks on the set are "Homeward" gleaned from Nicki's 'Feeder Lane' album of 2004 and "You Loved Me" from her 2009 album 'Once In A While' and although I would have liked something from her 2002 project 'Colour Scheme' this selection is a useful reminder of the affecting voice and songs of a talented lady.
