Having gone through its fair share of challenges over the last few years, the Colorado megachurch has released a live worship set. Nine of the 12 songs are brand new with three heralding from 2009. Produced by Matthew Fallentine, worship is led by Brad Parsley, Jared Anderson, Jon Egan, Glen Packiam, Rachael Bussinger and Bekah Wagner. Jon Egan of the Desperation Band has seven writing credits and co-writing three songs with Hillsong's Mia Fieldes - "Be Thou Exalted", "It Was For Freedom" and "Dry Bones". Joyful, anthemic and rock-orientated music seem to be the default setting at New Life, with full-on guitars and energetic drumming from Jared Henderson. Songs like Glenn Packiam and Ian Eskelin's "Our Messiah Reigns" and Jared Anderson's "Great I Am" start a bit quieter but build to crescendos. "Sing Hallelujah" co written by Glenn Packiam and Dove Award-Winning Kari Jobe (Gateway Church, Texas) is a beautifully simple song, sung here with gorgeous female vocal and lyrical piano. Pretty impressive live worship.
