Nancey's second album on Harmony Records is a collection of 12 songs, ranging from contemporary urban gospel to R&B to jazz. Songs born from the experiences of a woman who knows the emptiness of a life without the Lord, as well as the immense joy from nurturing an intimate relationship with him. One of Nancey's favourite songs on the album is "Holy Is He", a song produced by Michael J Powell and written by Nancey's brother. "I love this song because it is a worship song that talks about the characteristics of God," says Nancey. The album contains some chill out tunes along with a couple of "Excuse me, where's the dancefloor" tracks. The hip hop driven "Don't Turn Your Back On Me" is one, as is the funkfilled "Crazy Praise", definite floorshakers. The album is overall a really good mix of slow movers with some classy groovers, each with its own Bible reference. With a great vocal range that reminds me of soul diva Robin S, this album is highly recommended for all you connoisseurs of funky, smooth, spirit-stirring music.
