A professional singer once told me that he had done years of damage to his voice because he didn't know about the importance of warming up his vocal chords. Athletes warm up, if they fail to do so damage to their muscles can occur. So we can only welcome Musicademy's Essential Warm Up CD, essential being the important word. Not that every singer has to do all 26 exercises before leading worship, but you will find four or five that suit you. I have been to one church where the singers always do vocal warm ups before leading worship and it certainly helped. This CD has diaphragm exercises (I have found that running also helps in this area) arpeggios, octaves and pronunciation exercises, they will teach you to sing "Coo coo ah ah" several times very loudly, just be careful where you sing it.
