Mike Liberty is singer, guitarist for Richmond, Virginia-based Christian punk band True Liberty. Once again Thumper Punk have used the fish out of water scenario and had the artist venture out of their genre to produce three acoustic songs. This time the tracks have an Americana/country/roots feel. The opening track is "Time" which is a Springsteen like lament driven only by guitar and piano and a gravel rich vocal and an added Redneck swing and features a fine guitar solo in the break. The song is a plea for time, something that always seems to be in short supply apart from when place your trust in the maker of eternity. A tremendous start. "11 O'clock" has a bluegrass guitar line backing a punk/pop vocal and once again features the passing of time as its theme, this time underlining an hour that brings the singer fulfilment and joy. "I Know" heads back to the blue-collar Springsteen territory. The vocal is particularly emotion packed and speaks strongly of the struggle of day to day life to do what's right and was my highlight of the EP. The three songs come to an end all too soon.
