Michael and his band began recording and producing this CD in January 2009 and are thrilled with the results. Inspired by the Psalms of Ascent (ch. 120-134) October Hill embodies the place in our hearts where we make the decision, although difficult at times, to party with God and with our friends. In Old Testament times, the Jewish people would travel up the road to Zion singing the songs known as the Psalms of Ascent. Though the enemy may have been looking down at these great caravans from the mountains that surrounded Jerusalem, God’s people continued to soldier on. When finally reaching their destination, known as Zion, they would then throw a great party together. Perhaps the most important of these parties, The Feast of Tabernacles, usually takes place in October. Today, we can decide to go to that Zion-like place in our hearts where we can lay it all down again and unlearn all the things that have held us back from a rich, worshipping lifestyle. Michael Larson is a singer/songwriter/worship leader who leads worship conferences and events all around the world. The songs on October Hill reflect the state of today’s troubles and point us to the One who can get us through - Jesus. October Hill will take the listener to the place of realisation that worship is not a feeling, but rather a call to the Most High despite our feelings and circumstances. |
