The debut release from London-based gospel singer Michael Ade features four self-penned songs that seek to worship and honour God whilst acting as a taster for a full album that is currently in the pipeline. Backed by a decent band and recorded by Jason Emberton at Lone Pine Studios in London, Ade gets proceedings under way in half spoken/half sung fashion in the upbeat "You Reign" before settling down to slower, more soulful fare in the likes of "Who Is There Like Our Lord" and the title track. Unfortunately, Ade's vocals have been placed fairly low in the mix in comparison to his backing vocalists and this, together with the way he pronounces certain words, makes deciphering the worthy message contained within each song more challenging. An attempt to make this occasionally sound like a live recording with the addition of audience applause in "We Worship You" and several unconvincing shouts of "woo" and "put your hands together" from Ade may be seen as an unnecessary move but, whilst there is more work to be done to bring consistency to his work, Ade succeeds in bringing his own brand of gospel music to the table instead of mimicking other exponents of the genre.
