Zimbabwe-born, UK-based worship leader Matt offers this six-track EP of worship songs with the help of producer Ryan Baker-Barnes and some accomplished songs that nestle into a nostalgic '80s synth-based groove that thankfully provides an alternative to much of the standard modern worship fare that currently saturates the market. Proceedings kick off with the upbeat "Won My Heart" which sets the scene for a collection of songs that praise God and declare his faithfulness and, continuing in an '80s vein, the likes of the title track and the contemplative "Fingerprints" showcase an assured Simon Le Bon-like vocal delivery from McChlery that oozes character and feeling throughout. Whilst the more conventional communion song "Forevermore" and the straightforward praise of "Emmanuel" rely a tad too heavily on clichéd worship phrases, there is enough elsewhere to suggest that McChlery is continuing to offer the worshipping Church something fresh.
