This fits into the evolving new metal category - new metal that has been influenced by hardcore and melodic emo rock. The best description is that it sounds like Hoobastank or ‘Silence’ era Blindside, throwing in the odd Juliana Theory and Project 86 moment, but having a much more melancholic feel that is distinctive to Lucerin Blue and not the others. Musically it works well, but I would still prefer any of the above bands. Not bad for their Tooth & Nail debut. The lyrics are often obscure and personal, but there is the occasional discernible "Christian" moment - both "Superstar" and "Off The Mark" are songs of repentance and dedication. If you like this type of music, then you might consider getting this offering. If you are looking for more blatant Christian edification, perhaps not.
