This collection from Brighton singer/songwriter Lou Fellingham is marked especially by at least two key qualities - a sense of joy in faith and a sweet but powerful voice. The fine voice is in top form and crystal clear on all tracks but is showcased particularly well on the soulful final track "All Hail King Jesus" which starts acapella before being embellished by a subtle musical accompaniment that slowly builds into an impressive prayer song. The sense of joy pervades the album, with "Awaken" being one of the most optimistic and upbeat songs - 'I hear the new day calling/Heaven's open invitation'. My favourite is "Sacrifice", one of the most reflective songs with a haunting melody, decorated effectively by a gorgeous piano accompaniment and solo and harmony vocals from Jake Isaak. There's a touching vulnerability about this track - "Broken before You/Heart laid bare again/Open before You/Waiting here." Finally, "Trinity" is a catchy number that fills a gap as it's often hard to find a good song that explores the Blessed Trinity. If there's any improvement to be made it might be that Fellingham's songwriting could be a tad sharper or more adventurous. The lyrics are fairly standard praise and worship fare, but then I suppose God hardly tires of expressions of love!

Product Description
"The love of Christ both wounds and heals, it fascinates and frightens, it kills and makes alive, it draws and repulses. There can be nothing more terrible or wonderful than to be stricken with love for Christ so deeply that the whole being goes out in a pained adoration of His person, an adoration that disturbs and disconcerts while it purges and satisfies and relaxes the deep inner heart." - AW Tozer

Fascinate features co-writes with Nick Herbert and Jake Isaac. With songs that inspire to dance and reflect in an equal measure this is an album that expresses the feeling of fascination and exaltation perfectly.
