Reviewed by Trevor Kirk Last Chance are Sheila and Roger Morgan, who hail from the heart of the Welsh valleys, and who, with the help of a few friends, have put together a CD that runs for nearly an hour, 12 tracks and all their own work. At times, the style is electric, as in the first three tracks, "Tomb", "Resurrection" and "Praise The Lord", which segue together for in excess of 10 minutes; other times, it’s acoustic and ambient: "The Carpenter" is a magnum opus of nearly seven and a half minutes, looking at the events of Good Friday through the eyes of the man who makes the crosses on which the condemned are crucified, and features just Roger’s voice, his acoustic guitar, and a little percussion. If "The Carpenter" is the highlight, the rest of the album sadly doesn’t come up to the same standard; Sheila’s vocals are not particularly strong, neither are they particularly accurate at times, and whilst production is generally acceptable, some of the songs are rather drawn out, and couldn’t keep me sufficiently interested to listen until the end. A good try.
