Lambert has been Music Director at Abundant Christian Life Centre in Texas since 2004, and he offers here a collection of 13 self-penned gospel/jazz fusion songs of worship, praise and testimony with almost 70 minutes of music. Led from the piano. Lambert is blessed with a magnificent singing voice and he works his way expertly and expressively through this material, supported by inventive arrangements (rich and always interesting) delivered by high-calibre musicians. For those not regarding themselves as aficionados of jazz there will be sections of the collection which are not the easiest of listens, as there is plenty of room for improvisational embellishment and melodic progression is sometimes given a back seat. But those who are looking for worship music laced with jazz will doubtless enjoy this set.
