Missouri-based Shorey, who judging from the hard hats and heavy machinery in the back sleeve pic is a property developer as well as an inspirational singer, released this album last year with expert help from hitmaking producer Gary S Paxton. The sleeve also proclaims that it is "a tribute to Jim Bakker and all that have the courage to start over and finish strong" with Shorey pictured with the fallen-but-now-restored TV evangelist Bakker. The Paxton-written ballad which expresses this theme "You Can Begin Again" is a gem of a song and Kevin sings it with appropriate passion. Most of the songs here are actually written by Gary S and "Route 66", "Antioch Church" and "What Are You Gonna Do With This Man Named Jesus?" are all strong. If you are in the mood for some heartfelt balladry you could do far worse than searching this one out.
