Many readers of the Cross Rhythms website will have read Kat's piece where she bravely explains how she was diagnosed with autism. This album of self-composed songs deals with deep issues of personhood and a relationship with God that such a diagnosis brought to the surface. There's much here which is melodically engaging piano-driven pop with Kat's bright and expressive voice able to handle fast, mid and slow tempos while the production is neatly organic. The three standout tracks - all chosen for Cross Rhythms radio - are the mid-tempo "Not Made Wrong" which boldly declares that the Lord has created Kat different from most folk but definitely not wrong; "The Words Won't Come" with a bit of electric guitar giving edge to another mid-tempo song; and "Diamond In The Rough", a plea for people not to write off this brave and erudite crafter of intensely personal songs.
