After 2009's 'There's A Rhythm' EP super-skateboarder Josh Harmony is back with a far rootsier set of six songs. It has a much more stripped down sound than his first effort, which is strange as there is a much more varied instrumentation on this album, with the singer's guitars and Erick Cole's bass joined by a piano (played by Travis Taylor, along with his drums) and trumpet from Horatio Taylor (on "Soli Deo Gloria", the most poppy of the set). The lyrics here communicate the same strongly-held faith as the earlier album, but there's a much lighter and uplifting feel to it all. "Come Take Me Home" (which has a Mavericks feel to it) is quite a bouncy little song and Harmony uses a banjo on the closing "Where I Long To Be" which, although rather short, anticipates the afterlife with a positive sense of longing. It's all good stuff and well worth a listen.
