As I've remarked before, Sheri Easter possesses one of the best stone country voices in Christendom. Give her a slow, haunting ballad with a melody seemingly plucked from the Appalachian Mountains (like on track 11 "He Sends His Angels") and the effect is truly memorable. Unfortunately, too often here the husband and wife duo settle for jaunty toe-tappers which, though full of biblical good sense, make for a stylised and occasionally cornball sound. If you're a big devotee of the country sound you'll want this album for its best moments though with better production and better songs they could really make a country gospel classic.
